Designers for Environment / Ympäristömuotoilijat

Designers for environment is a peer network focused on promoting responsible design, aiming to advance sustainable practices both within the design field and in Finnish society at large. Members of the network work within various Finnish city and government organizations as part of multidisciplinary expert communities, such as Senate properties, Metsähallitus, Cities of Tampere, Oulu and Helsinki.

Designers for the environment utilize service design and design tools to promote sustainability goals. The network originated in 2021 from the need to share best practices and support the sustainability transition through design in the public sector. The members work together by writing together, organizing events and supporting each other in monthly meetings online and offline.
